Plumbing and Patio
08 March 03 Update

Enrique and Rubin are hooking up the water tanks and pressure pumps on the roof.  Air conditioners are next.
 
The tanks will be filled each night.  There is not enough water pressure to raise to water to the roof during high usage periods -- which is most of the day.  Each apartment has its own pump and tank.

Iniz is laying the interlocking brick pavers on the patio.  

We prepared the ground by removing all the concrete mixing residue, adding fill dirt were needed, and then compacting the soil.  Then we brought in 4 to 6 inches of sand to form a bed for the bricks.  When all the bricks are in place, more sand will be brushed into the spaces between. 
 
This brickwork will extend all the way around the house except for the walkway at the north end where there will be sand but no bricks so the kids can play in the sand.  (Requested by the boys.  The mothers are not too thrilled; I voted with the boys.)

Here are some views from the roof.

There are mountains and a river to the south and west, but only flat desert lies to the north and east.  Lerdo is where the desert meets the mountains. 

Though not very clear in these pictures, Lerdo extends a little way up the western mountains.
