Mongolian BBQ Restaurant

Bravo at G. Ortega, Torreón      4 December 2011

The restaurant is located in a handsome old home which houses the cooking area and only three tables on the  first floor with more up stairs.

Brenda. Chico and I are about to dig into our first course, a very tasty angle hair soup.  The empty place belongs to Nery who is our photographer since I hurt my arm.

This is a typical Mongolian BBQ place where one loads a bowl with a variety of meat, seafood and veggies and then presents it to the cook.

Here I am waiting my turn at the meat and seafood freezer.  Four kinds of meat and five seafood are cut into bite sizes and frozen in this freezer display case.

Chico is filling his bowl with meat, no seafood for him.  I chose only seafood -- fish, shrimp, crab and calamari.

Next are the fresh veggies and noodles.

My bowl runneth over with seafood, onions, noodles and mushroom. I would have added more veggies in a larger bowl.

Each person's bowl is dumped on this giant comal for a quick stir-fry.

My final plate with a mound of rice.  Sesame seeds, soy and a variety of other sauces were available.

There were only two desserts, almond pie and chocolate cake, both very good.

The tab, including tip, was $850 pesos or about $16 dollars each.
