Meat Loaf

Meat loaf is very common in the USA, but much less so in Mexico.  I was surprised at the number of my friends who have never eaten it.  Of the 6 cooks that feed me from time to time, only two make meat loaf.  I really like it, and I was happy when Adriana agreed to make it.  She makes it often because her family likes it too.

The ingredients are:

3 slices of bread torn into small pieces and soaked with 2 cups of milk

Ketchup

2 pounds (1 kilo) each of lean ground beef and pork.  This is enough to make two large loafs.

Tone's Canadian steak season-ing to taste

Worcestershire sauce; to taste

2 garlic cloves

1 cup each cooked peas and carrots

2 cups diced onions

1/4 pound (250g) bacon

2 T spoons marjoram

350° for about 40 minutes

Moist and delicious.
